Where do we ski?

With over 500km of skiing and 179 ski lifts included on your ski pass, the Ziller Valley has plenty of skiing to suit all levels of skier.  The local ski areas of Spieljoch, Hochfuegen and Hochzillertal  offer a great progression of slopes for those learning to ski whilst also offering some challenging red runs (including the longest ski run in the valley bringing you back down to the village), several black runs and some fantastic off piste terrain for expert skiers. Skiers who are learning to ski typically spend the week skiing the local ski areas.  More advanced skiers will find plenty to ski close to home, but if they want to explore further afield, will find convenient ski bus and train links to the other resorts included on the ski pass, such as Mayrhofen, Zell or the Hintertux Glacier. Skiers who can ski red runs confidently and independently can add the guided ski days out to explore the valley with a small group and guide.

Where do we stay?

Stay at one of our carefully chosen Hotels or Apartments.  All are conveniently situated within 5 minutes walk of the gondola ski lift and the resort facilities. Adult Ski Holiday – Travel

Flights and Transfers are usually included in your holiday package.  Our advertised package price is usually based on flying from London Heathrow to Munich, but it is possible to fly from other airports.  If you can’t see your preferred airport listed, then please contact us for a personalized quote and we’ll see what we can do.

Flights are usually to Munich airport (MUC), although we do sometimes quote flights to Innsbruck airport (INN) and may occasionally quote flights to Salzburg (SZG).  Transfer times from Munich are approx. 2 hours, from Innsbruck approx. 1 hour and from Salzburg approx. 2.5 hours.  Transfers are usually by minibus, with up to 8 people sharing the transfer, although very occasionally we do use a coach at times when a lot of people have booked the same flights.

If you prefer to make your own travel arrangements because you are travelling from overseas or for other reasons, let us know and we can tailor your package to suit your individual travel needs.

Adult Ski Holiday – Guided Skiing

Guided Skiing is usually offered from Monday to Friday, with the first few days skiing in the local area and then moving on to the other ski areas in the valley as the week progresses.  It is possible to pre-book a guiding for the full five days, or add a day or two of guiding to your holiday once in resort.  The guide will ski the main areas in the Ziller Valley, including Spieljoch, Hochfugen and Hochzillertal, Mayrhofen and Zell.  With over 500km of skiing in the valley to choose from, we do sometimes vary the plan and visit a different area, such as the Hintertux Glacier or Gerlos.

There are usually up to 8 people in a guided group and occasionally up to 10 people.  It is a social day out and the guide will adjust the tempo to suit the pace of the group, showing you the highlights of the different ski areas and arranging coffee and lunch stops at some of the nicest places on the mountain, with some Apres Ski to end the day.

To join the guided Days Out, you must be able to ski red runs confidently and independently and be able to tackle the occasional black run safely.  The guide will decide whether you are at the level to join the group on the first day.  If not, there may be the opportunity to swap the guiding for lessons. See the FAQ’s for more details.

Adult Ski Holiday – Ski Lessons

Learn to Ski from complete novice, or improve and progress your skiing to a higher level by adding ski lessons to your holiday booking.  Whether you a complete beginner or an experienced skier, taking lessons in a small group or individually with an experienced English-speaking instructor can make a big difference to your skiing and holiday enjoyment.

Beginner Group Ski Lessons include 5 days of 2 ski lessons per day from Monday to Friday and are ideal for first-time skiers, or those who have had a trial run on the indoor ski slope but not skied a full week before.

Intermediate Group Ski Lessons include 5 days of ski lessons from Monday to Friday and are ideal for skiers who have skied before and want to improve their skills and confidence rather than joining the ski guiding.

Private Ski Lessons For skiers who prefer to learn on a one-to-one basis with an instructor rather than joining a group.  Lessons are usually 1.5 hours long and can be booked daily or for the week.

Refresher Course  To brush up on your skiing, take a Refresher Course, which includes 2 ski lessons. You can share this course with up to 2 friends if they are the same ski level.  It is best to pre-book your refresher, so that you have it booked for the start of your holiday to get the most benefit.

Snowboard Lessons can also be arranged on request.

Current Ski Lesson prices are:
Beginner Group Ski Lessons (2 x 1.5 hours per day for 5 days) £149
Intermediate Group Ski Lessons (1.5 hours per day for 5 days) £136
Refresher Ski Course (2 x 1.5 hours) £150 for the course, can be shared between up to 3 people of the same level
Private one-to-one ski lessons are £82 per 1.5 hours, discounts are possible when you take them for the whole week
Snowboard lessons are similar prices, but timings of sessions may be different.

Unsure of your level?  See the FAQ’s below, or give us a call on 01978 281 282 or e-mail us at bookings@redpoint.co.uk and we can advise on which options may suit you best.

Adult Ski Holiday – Lift Passes and Hire

A “Super Zillertal” lift pass will be added to your quote to match your package.  This covers over 500km of skiing in the Ziller Valley.  It also includes use of the ski buses and train when travelling to and from the different ski areas.

Equipment Hire can also be included on your quote depending on your needs.  One of the Redpoint Resort Team will assist and advise you at the ski hire shop upon arrival when you go to collect your equipment.  It is best to pre-book your ski hire, but it will still be possible to amend or upgrade this once you try on equipment in the shop.

Choices of ski or snowboard fall into the categories of Bronze, Silver or Gold.  The Bronze skis are best suited to first-time skiers, as they are more forgiving when learning the very basics at slow speeds.  Silver skis will suit most intermediate skiers who ski mainly the blue and red runs.  The Gold ski category is ideal for those skiers who ski the black runs and more difficult terrain and those who usually have their own equipment.  The VIP category is best chosen in the shop and provides specialist skis – this is something an advanced skier may choose to book as an upgrade on the day to suit the conditions.

Boots also come as Standard or Deluxe options, but the most important thing with the ski boot is making sure it fits you well, which can only be finalized once you are in the shop.  Our representatives can advise you once in resort.

Poles are included with the ski hire.  It is also possible to hire a helmet if you don’t already have one.

Lift Pass Prices:
Adult 6 days £233, Adult 4 days £168

Bronze Skis, Boots & Poles hire for 6 days £80, 4 days £57. Skis & Poles hire for 6 days £56, 4 days £39.  (Suitable for beginners who ski mainly blue runs)

Adult Ski Holiday FAQ’s

I would like to visit Zell and Mayrhofen. How long does it take to get there? 2017-09-19T11:24:09+00:00

You can get to Zell am Ziller and Mayrhofen on the train or ski bus, which is included on your lift pass.

Do I need a Super Zillertal Lift Pass, or can I buy one for just the local ski area? 2017-09-19T11:28:13+00:00

Once you buy a lift pass for more than 2 days in a row, then there are no local-area pass options, so all skiers buy the “Super Zillertal” pass regardless of their skier level.
